In addition to this, I have completed post-baccalaureate course work in Business at Portland State University and Engineering at the University of Arizona. I am licensed in Arizona as a Real Estate Sales Agent and REALTOR®.
Knowledge & Work Experience in the Housing Industry
I have worked in the housing industry since the late 90’s. I started out working on framing crews, then as a site foreman for College Pro Painters, inside sales for one of the first ever online lead generation companies (HandymanOnline.com), and was a kitchen designer at The Home Depot in college.
After college, I spent 5 years working in operations for Arbor Custom Homes, the largest builder in Oregon. My department was responsible for creating construction schedules, plotting site plans, performing architectural design work in AutoCAD, conducting lot feasibility studies, working with civil/structural engineers and pulling building permits across multiple and stringent jurisdictions.
I worked for 2.5 years at an online lead generation company serving contractors, called ReliableRemodeler.com. At the time, it was the 2nd largest company of its kind in the nation. My personal sales accounted for a significant portion of the company’s overall revenue helping fuel growth to reach a spot in Inc. Magazine’s “Top 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies” in ’07, positioning the organization for acquisition by a San Francisco Bay area firm, Quinstreet, Inc.
In Phoenix, I worked for T.W. Lewis Homes as a Builder/Project Manager. T.W. Lewis Homes was acquired by David Weekley Homes, which is the largest privately-owned builder in the United States. I managed and supervised the construction of the Blackstone at Vistancia neighborhood in NW Phoenix/Peoria area. It was a gated, master planned community around a golf course, with homes ranging in sales price of $450k to about $1.25M. I worked directly with both sales agents and home buyers throughout the entire construction process, up to and after closing. I completed internal company training and certification as a Building Professional.
I also worked for several years in the mining industry for Modular Mining Systems (a subsidiary of KOMATSU) as a project manager and am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). I managed the deployment of autonomous haulage vehicles, fleet management systems, vehicle health monitoring, and high precision machine guidance in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Australia.

Hobbies & Interests
I’m really into keeping into working out and healthy living. I grew up playing a lot of sports; mainly wrestling, boxing, and football. I also played a couple years of rugby at Oregon State. In addition to the physical fitness aspect, the commitment, perseverance, leadership and teamwork learned from sports are thoroughly ingrained in my lifestyle and work ethic. I do a lot of CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, running, hiking, and occasionally I mountain bike. I have a couple current fitness certifications: CrossFit Level 1 Trainer CF-L1 & CrossFit Olympic Lifting Trainer.
I loved to fish in places like Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Baja Mexico, and Florida. Traveling is something I also really enjoy. I spend a good deal of my time with my dog (a Belgian Malinois). I’ve been a bit of an amateur photographer for some time. I started with black and white 35mm film in middle school, then took some photography in college. Feel free to check out some of my pictures here: www.JDairy.com
